Product Description:

Add a touch of traditional Indian artistry with this captivating lightweight tabletop Garuda cheriyal bust. It has been crafted using natural ingredients and colors, making it ideal for art enthusiasts and cultural connoisseurs.

The Making Process of Cheriyal Bust:

It begins by grinding and pounding tamarind seeds. A paste made from boiled tamarind seed powder, along with sawdust, is then molded into a three-dimensional structure. The bust is subsequently covered with khadi cloth, using a mixture of white mud and rice starch. Once dried, the mask is painted with natural colors for the base and detailing. It will be left to dry for a day, then varnished and left to dry again for a week before it is ready. Natural white colors are derived from seashells, while black comes from the soot of kerosene lamps, and blue from the indigo tree. Colors like yellow, red, and bright yellow are obtained by grinding different stones.

Artisanal Support:

By choosing this, you support the livelihoods of artisans from Cheriyal village who are dedicated to preserving a 400-year-old cherished Indian art form and its heritage.
